Your new home starts with a clear plan.
Building a home means coordinating decisions long before the first foundation is poured. Home Doctor Construction works with homeowners to define the intended home, evaluate project requirements, and organize the construction scope, trades and schedule.
Whether you already own a lot, have drawings, or are beginning to explore a build, the first conversation should connect your priorities with the property, design and budget. We serve Clemmons, Winston-Salem, Advance, Lewisville, Bermuda Run and surrounding NC Triad communities. Project availability and suitability are confirmed during review.
From site preparation to the final finish.
Planning, drawings and permitting
We review your goals, available plans, lot information and expected investment. Where needed, we coordinate with architects, engineers, surveyors and the local permitting authority to define the documents and approvals required before work begins.
Site preparation and foundations
Access, grading, drainage, soil conditions, utility connections and foundation requirements all affect the build. Clearing, excavation, footings, foundation systems and slab or crawlspace work are planned around the property and approved design. Well or septic requirements are evaluated with the appropriate professionals when applicable.
Framing and the exterior envelope
Framing, roof systems, windows, exterior doors, siding and roofing are coordinated to establish the structure and protect the interior. Material selections, lead times and required inspections are considered in the construction sequence.
Electrical, plumbing and HVAC coordination
We coordinate the appropriate licensed trades for electrical, plumbing and heating and cooling work. Rough-ins, equipment locations, insulation and inspections must be sequenced before drywall closes the walls.
Interior finishes and closeout
Drywall, cabinetry, tile, flooring, trim, painting, fixtures and finish details bring the home together. We coordinate final trade work, required inspections and a completion walkthrough, with remaining items documented for closeout.
A budget built around the complete project.
A useful new-home estimate accounts for more than the house itself. Site work, design and engineering, permits, utilities, material selections, allowances and exterior improvements should be identified so you can compare scope clearly. We define inclusions and exclusions and discuss how changes will be documented before additional work proceeds.
What to bring to the first conversation.
- Lot address or parcel information, if available
- Drawings, sketches or the home size and layout you have in mind
- Your target investment and preferred timing
- Known utility, access, well or septic information
- Finish preferences and must-have features
New home construction questions.
Can we talk before I have complete house plans?
Yes. Share your goals and any information you already have. We can discuss the next planning steps and identify design or property information needed before a construction estimate can be finalized.
Can you build on a lot I already own?
We can review a proposed build on your lot. Feasibility depends on the location, access, utilities, site conditions, applicable requirements and the intended design.
How long does a new home take?
The schedule depends on design readiness, approvals, site conditions, material availability, weather and the scope of the home. We discuss a project-specific sequence rather than promise a completion date before those details are known.
Do you also handle additions and remodeling?
Yes. If improving your current property is the better fit, explore our home additions and remodeling services.
